Agnona and Garage Magazine in partnership with Creative Growth
Agnona celebrates the start of its new partnership with Creative Growth, a Californian non-profit based in Oakland, with a special project in London in collaboration with Garage Magazine.
Inspired by the artistic production of the community, AGNONA crafted a limited edition White Cashmere cover with an embroidery of an artwork by Carrie Oyama.
As Agnona’s Creative Director Simon Holloway explains, the starting point of this limited-edition project is White Cashmere, here used as a sensuous blank page on which Oyama’s linework was embroidered and later integrated with hand-cut découpage of silk fabrics like crepe-de-chine and chiffon. The result is a coveted accessory that honors both the pioneering mission of Creative Growth and the inimitable prowess of Agnona.
Agnona’s special project with Carrie Oyama and Creative Growth is the latest chapter in a story of discovery, empathy, and technical virtuosity.
Part of the proceeds from the sales of the White Cashmere cover will be donated to the Creative Growth Art Centre.
Agnona launches the 2.28 cashmere sneaker
In line with the contemporary tailoring spirit, the first knitted cashmere sneaker is born to complete the look of the Agnona woman suggesting dynamism and practicality.
The Sneaker is made with one of the most precious yarns, the 2.28, and is the result of the most accurate selection of the best fibers of the Capra Hircus Laniger from Alaska, where the strong temperature changes between day and night favor the development of a down from the exceptional thermoregulation capacity of the body, which protects the animal from low temperatures.
Cashmere fiber also has a substantial degree of hygroscopicity, which protects the body from humidity and allows perfect transpiration, maintaining a constant temperature.
The 2.28 sneaker, (2 / 28.000 is the yarn titration, that is the indicator used to measure its fineness) with long laces that wrap around the ankle is offered in three colors: mélange gray, antique pink and black.
